How my head became acquainted with my desk

Tell me something. How hard is it to write a 2 page essay? That's double spaced. With the blasted MLA heading taking up half a page! When the topic is, "My Plans for the Future'!! Because my 3rd period class seems to be having some trouble with this. Especially one certain student who just printed out a picture of the University of Maryland mascot as a cover sheet and then typed up 2 paragraphs. ... just what?! WHY IS THIS HARD?! These kids need a serious lesson in the art of BSing.

The Year in Review

I posted this to my LJ, so I figured you Blogger people might want to see it too.


January: I run off back to Longwood for my final semester and play everyone's favorite game, "Don't Murder your Roommate". The Internet Apocalypse occurs when SA, NG, 4chan, and Fark all wage war against EBaum's. The Baumans proceed to bring out their Intarweb lawyers.

February: The OotP casting finishes! Yay! Gamers continue to wait for Advent Children and KH2. We begin to wonder if they actually plan on releasing either before we die. Jack Thompson proves that he is indeed the Biggest Douche in the Universe.

March: March begins as does my descent into insanity as I scramble to write not one, but two theses. I get to attend the IAFA conference. It is amazing! I get free books! I meet Peter Straub and eat lunch next to Patricia McKillip (and don't realize it until Brock points it out because I'm an idiot!). I never write up the full account! ...Oops.
A week later, I attend the Longwood conference and get to read my Harry Potter paper. People like it, huzzah!

April: My family gets a new addition. Welcome to the world, Carrie. The new season of Doctor Who begins and I go, "OMG DAVID TENNANT I WANT TO HAVE YOUR BABIES PLZKTHX". My final thesis of my undergrad career is completed and presented. I got to write a paper on fanfiction! And everyone liked it! YAY! And April ends with, "Wait... the Wii?!?!"

May: Sean attempts to burn down the house via a remote in the microwave. Well played. The semester ends, but I'm not quite done yet. Damn you French!

June: X3 comes out! Charles and Erik are married, dammit! Married! The Msscribe saga is released on bad_penny. All of us stare in awe. Just....wow. We get wireless at my house! I never have to leave my room again!!

July: I turn 24! I totally get to be Jack Bauer now. I see Superman Returns and squee. Like a lot. Meg& and Co. run off to Indy What The Fuck Ever and HUGH LAURIE IS THERE GODDAMMIT. PotC 2 is seen. Jack/Everyone even the Kraken for the win! But the most important thing that happens this month? HAHA I'M DONE WITH LONGWOOD BITCHES! UNDERGRAD IS COMPLETE! GAME OVER! NEVER AGAIN! MWHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

August: They said it couldn't be done. But AHTM6 is completed and Misteroo gives a huge sigh of relief. SG-1 gets cancelled. I love the show, but seriously? It's about time.

September: R.I.P. Steve Irwin. You'll be sorely missed. The month ends with me finding two new fandoms (Horatio Hornblower and... is Good Eats a fandom?) Yeah. Not a big month.

October: Dude, The Prestige *still fangirling* Torchwood finally begins! Jack and Ianto are totally doing it! No, really! I get interviewed by Kenston. They drag their feet... a lot. I end October with a horrible sinus infection that proceeds to kill me.

November: Haha, just kidding. It's actually the medicine for the infection that's killing me. Well played meds. Once again, I miss the Great LJ Outage of 2006. We have the Lost fall season finale. What? Just what? Both the PS3 and the Wii are released. The Internets nearly come to a halt as fanboys flock to the stores. I'm pulled into Heroes as I totally need another fandom.

December: What the hell, House?! ARGH! I'm finally given a proper diagnosis by a therapist. OCD? No way! I end up dragging myself into another fandom. How do I keep doing that?! Damn you Airwolf! It's all Archangel's fault.
We have the title for the 7th book. It begins. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert was made of win and awesome. Mmm, flames. Also, I got syphilis for Christmas. Twice!
And I finish 2006 by completely breaking down. Awesome.


Dammit, 2007. You better be good.

New Fandoms: 5! 2 more than last year!
