Dragon* KHAAAANNNN!!!
So Dragon*Con. We missed Friday because I couldn't get time off work since it was the first week the kids were back and the school would collapse without me... or something. So after work on Friday, Chris and I drive the whole 8 hours there. Except it turned into about 11 or 12 because North Carolina is fucking confusing and we ended up taking the wrong I-85 and ended up in Tennessee. Oops. But we did make it eventually. Saturday morning was spent registering. Afterwards we booked it to the Firefly panel to see Ron Glass. Yay Shepherd Book! Sadly, I didn't get a picture because he asked people to limit the picture taking. But he was hilarious and Chris got to talk to him. Afterwards, we ran to the Sheraton (the con was being held in four hotels, so there was a LOT of walking) to see Tom Felton. YAY! During the panel, he totally kept making innuendo jokes about him and Daniel. It was great. Also, apparently a crazy guy legally changed his name to Lucius Malfoy and sent Tom a letter asking to adopt him. ....yeah. But I got to get up and ask him a question! And he complimented me on my HP cosplay robe. *melts*

I don't remember what he was laughing about here.
Afterwards, we relaxed a bit, bought way too much stuff, went to the consuite for dinner, and lounged around the con taking pictures of awesome cosplayers. Later that evening, we went to a Kingdom of Loathing party in which I got a bit tipsy on grogtini. But they had great finger foods! We also ran by the Firefly shindig, but it was jam packed. So we retired to the hotel room and I slept while Chris and our hotelmates (my friend Hesa and her friends) MSTed some contest on DragonTV (the con show that was playing around the hotel tvs).
Next morning, we went to the consuite for breakfast and then ran off to see Patrick Stewart. He was also hilarious. Apparently he only vaguely remembers episodes from Star Trek (his comment was that he's lucky to remember what he had for breakfast that morning) and would occasionally make fun of himself for that.

PATRICK STEWART!
Afterwards, we ran downstairs to the game room to play some cool board games for a while before packing it up to go home. (We would have stayed for Monday, but there wasn't any panels we wanted to see and we were running out of money). On the way back, we took the same wrong exit (Damn you, North Carolina!) and Chris got pulled by a Dinwiddie cop for doing 10 over. 10 OVER! Are they bored out there or what?!
Anyway, Dragon*Con was fun and we got some great pictures. Next time we get a chance to go though, I'm so bringing more money. Stuff acquired: A card game called 'Gloom', a card game called 'Burn in Hell', 'Illuminati the card game', 'Munchkin Quest', a real flail (you know, the ball attached to a chain and the ball has spikes on it?), and the Bride's katana from Kill Bill. All in all a good con!
Here's some of the cosplayers/stuff we saw.

Even made his own gun!

The guy on the left I think is supposed to be Poseidon and the other is a satyr.

TARDIS! Yeah, a couple had brought their life size Tardis so people could get their pictures with it. When you closed the door, it even made the Tardis sound effects!

Talk about a blast from the past. It was a great Sailor Saturn costume though.

We saw this Mal and River waiting for the Firefly Shindig

Steph and Billy were the ones who had made the room reservations. They and their friend Jen had a costume for every day of the con. I loved their Aeris and Squall.

This is Steph as formal Aeris (loved her cape), Billy as Squall in his ball uniform, and Jen in formal steampunk.

We also ran into Westley and Buttercup.

Also, I also got eaten by Regency zombies. Damn you Jane Austen!!

And finally, we saw a guy in full plate mail. In the Atlanta heat. Ouch.
THE END!
