Yay Halloween, Part the Second

So I have a proposal for you all. If you think my idea sucks, just say 'Shut up Iev' and I'll crawl back to my lair or something.

Anyway, since the Halloween thing takes place on Fri, Sat, and Sun, I thought maybe we should plan to go on a Friday. This would of course mean taking off a day of work, but there's a reason for my madness. Mainly, by September 28th, all schools will be back in session and thus if we go to KD on a Friday, we'll be able to avoid screaming hordes of children (well, at least during the day). At most, we might have to put up with bored housewives with younglings or college students who've skipped class... (or other people who said 'fuck work, it's KD time), but really? I think that's preferable than dealing with crowds of adolescents. That and the lines will be shorter. ^^

I'm also aware that the Halloween stuff doesn't begin until evening, but why waste money by only going during the evening?

So what say you all? What day do you want to go??
HAHA JUST KIDDING. *crawls back to lair*

ETA: In other news, I've discovered something very interesting. If you go to the Corporate Partners page on the KD website and enter the promo code VAFUN (all caps), you can get tickets for $35.95. Thank you Internets!!

Yay Halloween

Okay people, here's the lowdown. There's apparently a new Halloween thing being planned for KD this year and it sounds awesome. Here's the description from the website.

Halloween Haunt
Fri, Sat & Sun Nights Sept 28 – Oct 28
Cost: FREE WITH PARK ADMISSION

Something bigger, scarier and more sinister is coming to Kings Dominion. The Halloween Haunt is the area’s largest, scariest, Halloween-themed event. With seven all-new haunted mazes, four terror-filled scare zones and more than 200 monsters that go bump in the night – the Haunt is not for the faint of heart!

So yeah, I definitely want to go to this. Check your calendars people and tell me what day(s) would be good for you guys. ^.^

o.o

Billie Piper says, "I miss Doctor Who" Oh dear sweet Christ, NO NO NO! SHE'S IN ANOTHER UNIVERSE SHE CAN'T COME BACK! *flails*

Mmm custom songs

So someone posted a custom made Guitar Hero track on YT that was done to one of my favorite Nintendo remixes. Little Mac's Confession. Yeah, just go watch.

ETA: I also found a custom track of Dueling Banjos from Deliverance. Oh god, I think I went cross eyed watching that.

Last one, I promise. But It's Dragonforce. My fingers just hurt from watching.

I lied. One Winged Angel AC version and Flight of the Bumblebee.

Stardust

So yeah.

Oh my god, Neil Gaiman is so freaking awesome and the movie has lots of scenes that weren't in the book, but it was still totally worth it. And also Robert De Niro in a dress. <3

Also, they showed the Beowulf trailer. ...it's animated? HOW?!

Go see it. Now!

What, LJ? Just what?

So LJ continues to dig themselves into a hole. They've responded to fandom's questions by? Reposting the new TOS. *facepalm* LJ has basically given fandom the finger and said that they're not going back on the bannings, because apparently drawing fictional minors in sexual situations? Might be harmful to people. Clearly, LJ is looking out for the dignity of fictional characters everywhere.

In the meantime, the post in question is being swamped by fandom asking the questions that the new post didn't answer. So basically, all of them. And the LJ mods/admins are actually talking in comments! *gasp* A miracle. Except not, since they're just showing themselves to be stupider than I originally thought. This, however, is my favorite quote from the admins. People have asked a good question about LJ's rule about banning comms that are harmful to users. Namely the pro-anorexia comms. Yes, you heard that right. Comms made by anorexic girls to support other anorexic girls (or boys) in their struggle to be a stick. In response, one LJ mod said: we allow pro-anorexia communities to remain because they are, in most cases, serving as support groups for the members. Silencing them won't make their problems go away; we'd rather allow them to heal together as a community.

...er, okay. Maybe they're just stupid and don't know that pro usually means for something. This is fortunately pointed out by LJ members who have an IQ higher than a fly's. Same mod responds to the clarification: I do know what I'm talking about; I've read many many of these communities. It's sad, I know it is. But it's not illegal to aspire to be thin. It's not against the ToS to give people bad advice.

...
..
.
o.O

Yeah. I'm really glad I left LJ.

ETA: Someone linked to this thread on stupid_free in which an LJ mod is asked why a convicted pedophile (who raped a fucking 4 month old, mind you) is still on LJ. Answer? It's not against the ToS to have a criminal record.

............ I have to go kill things, excuse me.

Mine is an Evil Laugh!

So I had jokingly told Bob that I was going to make a couple of Sims. She told me that I had to do it. So I did.

This is Aaron Burr
.

This is Alexander Hamilton
.

They're married. ...or as good as anyway. I've tried to remain as historically accurate as possible. Thus things didn't start off so well. Right off, Aaron and Alexander argued (thanks to my prompting). And they argued and poked and shoved. And finally got into a fight. Alexander won. Aaron ran off and cried about their quarrel later on. Meanwhile, Alexander died from hail... uhh, I mean a gunshot wound. Aaron begged Death for Alexander to be spared however. And he won. They then forgave each other and hugged. The end. So far...

In the meantime, Bob and I made a household full of John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, and Benjamin Franklin. I can't wait to see how this goes.

Didn't we already do this?

So remember the infamous Strikethrough 2007? Yeah. We're currently going through Strikethrough Ver 2.0. (It's been nicknamed Bold'07 however because the strikethrough that LJ used to use to show a person had deleted their LJ and/or had been suspended has been replaced by the user name being in bold. Well played LJ/6A). This time we know it's not just a misunderstanding. The users who've been banned got a letter from LJ saying they were banned for explicit drawings of a controversial nature, or some shit like that. The kicker? Most of the drawings were flocked which means the general public couldn't SEE said drawings. Argh, I've had it up to here with LJ and their BS. I don't care if they do get things straightened out, this is it for me and LJ. I'm not going to delete my LJ so I'll at least be able to see my flist, but I'm not going to update anymore. Fuck you LJ.

Also? THEY FUCKING BANNED PONDEROSA! *gives LJ the finger*
