Second Verse, same as the first..
So yeah. I'm working in a Christian school. A very Christian school. A evangelical 'if you are gay or sinful or don't accept Jesus as your ONE TRUE SAVIOR you are going to Hell!!!' Christian school. o.O What. Was. I. Thinking?
Seriously, the things I've seen and heard here? I'm surprised there aren't holes in the walls from the amount of times I've wanted to bash my head against it. These are people who don't allow their teenagers to date because breaking up with a boyfriend is "the same as getting a divorce". WHAT??? One of the things I HATE is the curriculum here. They use this curriculum called ABeka which is basically English, Math, Science, etc for Christians. I am not kidding. I was flipping through my 6th graders spelling book the other day and came across a future spelling list that had the words atheist and polytheistic. The example sentences? "Even though an atheist denies God, God still loves him and wants to save him." and "Zeus, Mercury, and Athena were just a few of the many false gods worshiped by the polytheistic Greeks and Romans." o.o Just what. And then just the other day, I was subbing for the middle school science teacher for a period in which the 7th graders just had to read out loud. They were talking about cellular respiration. In the middle of the section on alcoholic fermentation, they slipped in a Bible lesson. In Science! They were using a very stupid metaphor about the way yeast works by saying something to the effect of 'Sin can spread throughout the church just as easily.' and I had to strain myself from chucking the book across the room. And this was fucking SCIENCE! *headdesk x a million*
In better news, Busch Gardens' Howl-o-Scream was very much fun though it didn't have as much as KD (which Chris and I will be going to this weekend). They had a fairy tale themed maze which was freaking awesome.
Speaking of scary things, Silent Hill Origins is really good if you haven't tried it. Chris and I tried playing the Room, but I wasn't impressed at all, so I was glad for the return of the original format. Though the character is much easier to control this time. Also we've been pondering going to the dark side and purchasing a 360 just because the new Portal game will only be for Xbox. >.<
In other other news, just to make things even more difficult, Caity (my sister) is dating a guy named Chris. So if we ever all get together sometime in the future, it will turn into a Chris convention of sorts. Anyway, almost time for my English class. (Fun times...) I may come back and add more since I haven't updated this in forever.
